American Society for Tropical Medicine and Hygiene symposium

A/Prof Angela Devine gave a presentation on the “The cost-effectiveness of high dose short course primaquine and tafenoquine” during a symposium at the Annual Meeting of the American Society for Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (ASTMH) in New Orleans in November 2024. The symposium entitled “Novel approaches for the radical cure of vivax malaria: high dose short course primaquine and tafenoquine” presented yet unpublished results from the large multi-center EFFORT clinical trial in Ethiopia, Pakistan, Indonesia and Cambodia. The symposium included presentations on the effectiveness, safety, cost-effectiveness and feasibility of novel radical cure options with tafenoquine and primaquine.
