REVAMP-TT has received a 2026 ACTA Trial of the Year Award

REVAMP-TT was pleased to be the recipient of the 2026 Australian Clinical Trials Alliance (ACTA) Trial of the Year Award in the Translation of Research into Practice Special Interest Group (TRIP SIG) Excellence in Implementation Science category!

This is a wonderful recognition of the collective effort and collaboration that went into the implementation science component of the Randomised controlled trial of the Effect of intraVenous iron on Anaemia in Malawian Pregnant women in the Third Trimester (REVAMP-TT). This included understanding the local context, working with pregnant women, communities and healthcare workers, engaging with the Ministry of Health, and co-designing locally relevant strategies to support adoption of IV iron within the trial and inform the potential implementation of IV iron in routine antenatal care.

This work was only possible through the collaboration between Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research (Australia), Training and Research Unit of Excellence (Malawi), Kamuzu University of Health Sciences (Malawi) and the Melbourne School of Population and Global Health (Australia).

This award is a reminder of the value of embedding implementation science alongside trials to help bridge the research evidence to routine practice gap, with the ultimate goal of improving maternal health in Malawi.
