Dr Anu Oommen receives 2025 Picchi Award for excellence in cancer research

Dr Anu Oommen’s PhD , supervised by Prof Julia Brotherton, A/Prof Claire Nightingale & Prof Sumit Kane, will help improve uptake of HPV testing among vulnerable communities.

The Picchi Brothers Foundation award will allow Dr Oommen to spend time with the IARC - International Agency for Research on Cancer / World Health Organization, focusing on sustainable implementation strategies to promote equitable cervical cancer elimination. She will also have the opportunity to share her impactful work at international conferences.
