Congratulations to Claire Bavor - Awarded NHMRC Postgraduate Scholarship

Claire Bavor

Claire Bavor, a research assistant with the Evaluation and Implementation Science Unit (EISU) has been awarded an NHMRC Postgraduate Scholarship to undertake her PhD with the team. Her PhD is titled “Supporting Choice for Cervical Screening: Implementing HPV self-collection using flexible models of screening to increase equity in the Australian National Cervical Screening Program".

Claire will be working with healthcare providers and community members to explore how self-collection can be implemented in ways that are safe and accessible for people who under or never screen. Her project is part of the Supporting Choice for Cervical Screening project.

Claire will be supervised by Dr Claire Nightingale and Dr Tessa Saunders from the EISU alongside Prof Deborah Bateson and A/Prof Megan Smith from the Daffodil Centre, a joint venture between Cancer Council NSW and the University of Sydney, and A/Prof Angela Kelly-Hanku from the Kirby Institute, UNSW.

The NHMRC Postgraduate Scholarship provides funding to early career health and medical graduates to undertake research and to support the development of original and internationally competitive independent research within Australia.
