Madz summarised three key priorities around crisis accommodation and housing: access, ownership, and independence.

Access: Accessing the services, accessing the accommodation

Ownership: Ownership of accommodation, ownership of stability

Independence: Pretty straight forward

On the one hand, Madz felt gratitude and relief to have access to their own accommodation through homelessness services. They valued feeling that they had ownership and control over their home, which felt relatively secure for Madz. However, Madz's feeling of security was also undermined by the power service providers had to monitor them and as they described, try to “kick [them] out” after one year was up.
