ISPOR VIC–TAS Student Symposium
Members of our Melbourne Health Economics (MHE) Child Health Economics and Economics of Genomics and Precision Medicine Unit (EiGEN) teams made a significant impact at the recent ISPOR VIC–TAS Student Health Economics and Outcomes Research Symposium (5th September 2025), showcasing the breadth and depth of our research in paediatric health economics and quality of life assessment.

Presentations:
Three PhD students from our team presented their research:
- Fengyuan Tang: 'Relationship between weight status, health behaviours, and health-related quality of life in children: evidence from 4,227 Chinese families'
- Shengxuan Jin: 'Quality of Life among Informal Caregivers of Disabled Older Adults in China: A Cross-sectional Study Using the CarerQol Instrument'
- Renee Jones: 'What do patients, parents and clinicians think about using the EQ-5D-Y-5L in routine clinical care? Qualitative results from the P-PROM ROCK pilot trial'

Broader Team Involvement
Several other PhD students and Research Fellows were also actively engaged in the symposium, participating in networking opportunities, Q&A panels, and attending presentations:
- Alexander van Heusden, PhD student and ISPOR VIC-TAS Vice President, facilitated the symposium.
- Dr Cun (Lizzy) Liu, Research Fellow, participated in an expert panel, sharing her experiences with students.
- Additional Child Health PhD students in attendance included Karen Lee, Amir Haddadfar, and Zhuomin Liu.

This strong showing at the ISPOR VIC–TAS Symposium underscores our team's commitment to advancing health economics and outcomes research. The symposium provided an excellent platform for our students and early career researchers to share their work, gain insights from peers and experts, and contribute to the broader discourse in the field.
