Celebrating four Melbourne Health Economics graduates

Melbourne Health Economics recently celebrated the graduation of four PhD students: Dr Renee Jones, Dr Patrick Abraham, Dr Marie-Anne Boujaoude and Dr Francisco Santos-Gonzales.

The graduates represent several areas of research across MHE:

• Dr Renee Jones, from the Child Health Economics Unit, completed her thesis titled “Advancing paediatric patient reported outcome measures in healthcare”.
• Dr Patrick Abraham, from the Economics of Global Health and Infectious Diseases Unit, completed his thesis titled “Using economic evidence to optimise novel interventions for malaria control policies”.
• Dr Marie-Anne Boujaoude, also from the Economics of Global Health and Infectious Diseases Unit, completed her thesis titled “Advancing new methods in addressing equity in health technology assessment – An application to Australia”.
• Dr Francisco Santos-Gonzalez, from the Economics of Genomics and Precision Medicine Unit, completed his thesis titled “The economic value of functional genomics diagnostics for undiagnosed individuals with rare diseases”.

Their research reflects the breadth of work undertaken across MHE, spanning child health, global health, infectious diseases, health equity, genomics and precision medicine.

Many colleagues from across MHE attended the graduation ceremony to celebrate this important milestone. Their presence made the occasion particularly special and reflected the collegiality and support that accompanied the graduates throughout their PhD journeys.
