Congratulations to Professor Lisa Gibbs and Professor Richard Chenhall who have been announced as academic leads for the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences (MDHS) Advancing Health Impact: Prevention and Equity Mission.

Mission: Develop the evidence base, advocacy and collaboration with communities, as we strive to create a world where equity is the cornerstone of healthcare and proactive prevention, guided by research that enables wellbeing for all.

Impact Mission Academic Lead

Lisa Gibbs is the Director of the Disaster, Climate and Adversity Unit, Deputy Director of the Centre for Mental Health and Community Wellbeing, and Director of the Research Committee at the Melbourne School for Population and Global Health. Lisa brings deep experience in research and in working with Government, organisations and the community which will be critical in this mission.

Impact Mission Deputy Academic Lead

Richard Chenhall is the Director of the Centre for Health Equity in the Melbourne School of Population and Global Health. Richard has deep disciplinary expertise in health equity and prevention, including working with Indigenous communities. Richard’s dual role will ensure full engagement with expertise within the Centre for Health Equity.
