Oral diseases affect approximately 50% of the global population and exhibit an unequal distribution, particularly impacting those from socially disadvantaged backgrounds. Diet plays a crucial role as a proximal determinant of oral diseases. Implementing front-of-pack nutrition labeling with quick and easy-to-understand characteristics can nudge consumers toward healthier food choices. Ziyao's project aims to assess the impact of front-of-pack nutrition labeling on social inequalities in oral health using simulation models, reflecting on past impacts and future implications.
