Addressing the sexual health information needs of older adults in Australia
Principle supervisor: Prof. Jane Hocking
Co-supervisors: Dr. Sue Malta, Prof. Meredith Temple-Smith
Many people continue sexual activity into their later years. Increasing STI rates, infrequent sexual health discussions between GPs and older patients, and few age-specific sexual health promotion resources indicate that older adults’ needs are not well met. This PhD seeks to understand the sexual health needs of people aged 60 and older in Australia, and the types of health promotion that would best serve this demographic.
