Project Details
The research project will be conducted in partnership with Diabetes Australia (DA) in Western Australia (WA), Queensland (Qld) & Victoria (Vic) and the National Diabetes Services Scheme (NDSS), an initiative of the Australian Government that is administered by Diabetes Australia, and Roche Diagnostics. The proposed research will provide a unique opportunity to evaluate how new communication technologies can provide effective, easily accessible, timely and engaging resources and supports to over one million Australians with type 2 diabetes (T2DM), who are registered on NDSS. Our research will also generate important findings about how new technologies can be offered to assist Australia’s rapidly ageing population to self-manage other chronic conditions, such as cardiovascular disease (CVD) and musculoskeletal conditions, as well as to improve the linkages between these kinds of programs, health consumers and their health care providers (HCP).
