The Asian Development Bank’s Health Services Sector Development Program (HSSDP) aims to help Papua New Guinea (PNG) strengthen health services through policy reforms and direct investments in health systems.

The Nossal Institute is contributing to HSSDP from a health economics and systems perspective, with a focus on capacity strengthening within PNG’s National Department of Health (NDOH), and contribute to the implementation of selected activities:

In collaboration with NDOH, Nossal will:

  • Develop standard operating costs for health facility levels 2-4 based on National Health Service Standards.
  • Develop a training program for NDOH and PHA  staff to support for better planning, budgeting and expenditure.
