Toward the health promoting university: enhancing the student experience and academic outcomes

Project Details

The promotion of student health and wellbeing is a key goal of the University of Melbourne through providing an environment in which students are positive about their university experience, can achieve their academic goals and have enhanced employment prospects through greater physical, social and mental health literacy.

Toward this goal, this study will compare and contrast the associations between health and wellbeing indicators, academic performance, and access to existing services for local, international and migrant students. Our results will examine indicators for academic achievement and mental health and highlight areas needing intervention, particularly for international students to positively settle in Australia or return to their home country.
