Sharon Ahmer

Research Fellow (ATNS)

Sharon is a Research Fellow in the Indigenous Studies Unit, currently leading the Agreements, Treaties and Negotiated Settlements (ATNS) Project. Her work involves presenting publicly accessible information in a manner that promotes Indigenous nation building. Her focus is on legal systems that support human rights and dignity with a particular focus on Australian native title law. Sharon also supervises the ATNs internship program and is passionate about involving students in legal issues that affect Indigenous Australians.

Sharon is trained as a lawyer and holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Adelaide (Hons). She also holds a Bachelor of Arts and postgraduate qualifications in Anthropology and Indonesian Language and Culture.
