Milpa’s Six Steps to Stop Germs Poster Competition

The Milpa’s Six Steps to Stop Germs Poster Competition is one of the many initiatives that the NT Department of Education has committed to in its efforts to promote good health amongst students.

The NT Department of Education has worked with the Central Australia Health Service, Indigenous Eye Health, and other trachoma stakeholders since 2010. IEH is proud to work alongside the NT Department of Education to promote Milpa’s Six Steps to Stop Germs as best practice daily hygiene actions to help stop infections. We all want children to be strong, feel and look good and enjoy participation in school.  Good hygiene and healthy living is linked to the Australian Curriculum and resources provide learning opportunities and practical application of best practice.

In 2021 Milpa called on NT schools to participate in a poster competition. Students in primary schools, early learning centres and Families as First Teachers in the Northern Territory were asked to create an artwork based on ‘Milpa’s Six Steps to Stop Germs

We were delighted by the fantastic interpretations of Milpa’s Six Steps to Stop Germs and incredible range of entries including drawings, paintings, colouring-in and photography. The styles ranged from simple individual illustrations to huge colourful class efforts and even crazy psychedelics!
