Strengthening Health Systems
We are working with the Health Systems Transformation Platform (HSTP) India to develop and implement the India Health Policy Systems & Research (HPSR) Fellowship program.
The fellowship is aimed at building capacities of mid-career Indian public health professionals to conduct high quality HPSR. The first cohort from all over India, began in January 2021. Despite a global pandemic, the inaugural 20 fellows have excelled and 18 out of the 20 have successfully completed the first year of the program; they are now in the process of implementing their HPSR projects. See details here India HPSR Fellowships Programme
The fellowship is anchored at HSTP India, and has been developed and is being implemented as a partnership between Institute of Public Health Bengaluru, Achutha Menon Centre for Health Systems Studies, India Health Systems Collaborative, The George Institute of Global Health - India, Nossal Institute of Global Health, Institute of Tropical Medicine Antwerp, &, and the WHO Alliance for Health Systems and Policy Research.
The Nossal team is led by Associate Professor Sumit Kane; Prof. Ajay Mahal, Prof. Barbara McPake, and Ms. Prarthna Dayal have been actively involved throughout. Dr. Greg Armstrong is also involved in the mentoring of one of the fellows.
