During her research at the Nossal Institute, Tiara is examining geographical inequality in maternal health care in Indonesia. Tiara joined the Nossal in July 2016 and expects her research to take three to four years to complete.
Health inequality has been a problem in Indonesia and globally for many years. Tiara believes, as a researcher, one of her key roles is to give a voice to those inequalities by providing hard evidence that can help design better public health systems. Her area of interest has always been maternal and child health and she hopes to find new approaches to improve equitable access to healthcare for women and children.
Tiara is enjoying working with supervisors at the Nossal Institute who have extensive experience in health system research and strengthening. She is also enjoying collaborating on projects outside her PhD program that are personally and professionally rewarding. Tiara enjoys travelling, playing music and collecting die cast models.
