Senior Technical Advisor - HIV
Brigitte Tenni joined the Nossal Institute in October 2007 as a consultant on a United Nations Population Fund training project. The project centred on HIV prevention, care, treatment and support for sex workers.
Brigitte is a public health practitioner with a focus on, and expertise in, HIV programming, capacity building, social research and monitoring and evaluation. Her experience is in the areas of sexual and reproductive health, HIV and hepatitis C, drug policy, treatment preparedness, advocacy and the Greater Involvement of People living with HIV & AIDS (GIPA).
Before joining the Nossal, Brigitte lived and worked in Thailand. She worked with a network of people living with HIV on issues of access to medicines, stigma and discrimination, treatment literacy and project management. This fostered an interest in trade and intellectual property barriers to medicines.
Brigitte also provided technical assistance to the regional training initiative and helped manage capacity building and care and support projects. She has closely followed the impacts of Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) and Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP) agreement on public health policy and access to medicines.
Brigitte has a Bachelor of Applied Science (Osteopathy) from RMIT and a Master of Public Health (International Health) from Monash University.
