Associate Professor Michelle Kermode
Associate Professor Michelle Kermode is an experienced public health researcher with a focus on sexual and reproductive health, maternal and child health, mental health, HIV, program evaluation and health systems. She draws on both quantitative and qualitative research approaches.
Michelle has successfully led many research projects in India and more recently in Kenya. She works with local government, non-government agencies, faith-based organisations, academic institutes and health facilities.
She has a BA in Psychology from Macquarie University, a Master of Nursing Studies from La Trobe University, a Master of Public Health (Epidemiology and Biostatics) from the University of Melbourne and a Doctor of Philosophy (Public Health) from Deakin University.
Michelle joined the Australian International Health Institute, now the Nossal Institute, in January 2004 as an NHMRC Post-Doctoral fellow. She was subsequently appointed as a Senior Lecturer and then an Associate Professor.
She mentors younger researchers, contributes to teaching, supervises PhD students at the University and facilitates off-shore courses.
