Carla Chan Unger
Technical Advisor, Envisioning the Future of Policing and Public Health

As a multidisciplinary researcher with an applied background in international development, Carla is passionate about using research evidence to inform the development of policies and programs that improve broader social and health outcomes.
Her experience spans human rights, indigenous health and justice, migrant and refugee support, and food assistance and nutrition in humanitarian settings. Carla has worked for a number of universities, the Victorian Government, UN agencies and non-profit organisations across Australia, South Asia, and the Middle East.
She has a B.A. in anthropology and a B.Psych, Australian National University and a Master of Development Studies,University of Melbourne.
Carla will be working on a project that examines the role of law enforcement in addressing complex health, social and criminal justice issues, with a particular focus on low and middle-income countries.
