Associate Professor Michelle Kermode
Michelle is a public health researcher with a focus on sexual and reproductive health, maternal and child health, mental health and HIV. She has worked in India, and more recently in Kenya, with local government, non-government agencies, faith-based organisations, academic institutes and health facilities.
She has a BA in Psychology from Macquarie University, a Master of Nursing Studies from La Trobe University, a Master of Public Health (Epidemiology and Biostatics) from the University of Melbourne and a Doctor of Philosophy (Public Health) from Deakin University. Michelle has been part of the Nossal Institute for 14 years.
Michelle’s ambition is not to be bored - the stimulation provided by the world of global health and the people she works with at the Nossal and overseas help her achieve that. She enjoys mentoring younger researchers and seeing them make progress in their careers. Her personal mission is to contribute to a fairer world for women and girls.
