Genevieve Walker
Research Assistant

Genevieve Walker is a Research Assistant in the Gender and Women’s Health Unit supporting a range of violence against women research projects. She is a co-author of the kNOwVAWdata course, an innovative training program to build global capacity to conduct rigorous, safe and ethical research on violence against women in response to the growing demand for reliable prevalence data in low-and-middle income countries.
With a background in gender equality and family violence policy reform in the Victorian Government, Genevieve is committed to building the evidence base to drive policy and practice change to eliminate all forms of violence against women. She is interested in the impact of gender inequality and intersecting socio-cultural factors on health outcomes and is currently undertaking a Master of Public Health focussing on gender and women's health, health program evaluation, and health equity for asylum seeker communities.
