2019 Centre for Food Allergy (CFAR) Retreat

A/Prof Kim Dalziel and Dr Ekaterina Woods took part in the 2019 Centre for Food Allergy (CFAR) Retreat organised by the Centre of Research Excellence (CRE) in Food Allergy. It was held over three days from the 27th of February until the 1st of Match at the at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne. This annual event brought together leading food allergy researchers from Australia and worldwide.

A/Prof Kim Dalziel who is a chief investigator of the CRE and Dr Ekaterina Woods delivered a half-day workshop on health economics of food allergy on the first day of the forum. The second day featured updates on the research conducted by numerous groups working in food allergy field including a presentation by Dr Ekaterina Woods on the progress of health economics within the CFAR projects. Those projects include economic evaluations alongside randomised clinical trials investigating new treatments and prevention strategies for childhood food allergy and economic analysis of cohort studies such as HealthNuts.
