The University of Auckland

Overview

A NHMRC funded collaboration between The University of Melbourne and The University of Auckland is looking at cardiovascular disease and the impact of medication in a real world cohort. The Health Economics team are using a large pool of New Zealand data collected through the long running PREDICT project. The primary care data has been linked to national and regional databases to provide a comprehensive data set on a scale which is not currently available in Australia. Current work includes the use of big data techniques to develop cardiovascular disease risk equations and simulation models.
