Dr An Duy Tran Joins the Health Economics Unit

On 3rd of October 2016, Dr. An Duy Tran joined the Health Economics Unit in the Centre for Health Policy as a Senior Research Fellow on a full-time appointment. Dr. Tran was previously a Post-doctoral Researcher at the CAPHRI School for Public Health and Primary Care of Maastricht University, and Assistant Professor at the Julius Center for Health Sciences and Primary Care of the University Medical Center Utrecht in The Netherlands.

Dr. Tran's research interests includes the development of new methods and tools to simulate progression of chronic diseases and perform economic evaluation of disease interventions. While working in the Netherlands, he developed a novel approach to capture total national health of a dynamic population of patients with rheumatoid arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis who receive complex treatment strategies.

At the School of Population and Global Health, Dr. Tran will be collaborating with colleagues and scientists from Australian and Dutch universities to develop simulation models for cardiovascular disease, diabetes and rheumatoid arthritis.
