Biography
Allison is a Health Technology Assessment (HTA) evaluator in Melbourne Health Economics within the Melbourne Health Technology and Value Assessment Collaboration (M-VAC). Allison has over 20 years’ expertise in health technology evaluation and pharmaceutical development covering a range of roles in industry and government. Allison completed a PhD in molecular genetics at the Australian National University (2000) followed by a year at The National Institute of Genetics in Japan. Allison spent two years working in research toxicology and seven years in the pharmaceutical industry in the United Kingdom. On returning to Australia in 2010, Allison worked in evaluation and policy roles in the Department of Health in Pharmaceutical Benefits and Medical Benefits Divisions. Since 2017, Allison's focus has been funding policy and health technology assessment (HTA) of medical interventions and medicines, including vaccines and hospital services.
