Nuo Chen
Nuo joined the Cancer Health Services Research (CHSR) Unit as a visiting PhD student in March 2025. She is undertaking an 18-month study abroad research program under the joint supervision of Professor Gang Chen and Dr Fanny Franchini at the University of Melbourne. Currently, she is a PhD student majoring in health economics at Dong Fureng Institute of Economic and Social Development, Wuhan University in China. Her supervisor at Wuhan University is Professor Jian Wang.
Nuo’s research focuses on economic evaluation and behavioral experiments related to lung cancer screening. She also obtained her master’s degree of health economics from Wuhan University. During her master’s study, she mainly focused on health preference and policy evaluation. Specifically, she explored the residents’ preference for private health insurance and the impact of social health insurance payment reform on hospitalization costs in China.
In her spare time, Nuo enjoys outdoor sports, such as cycling and running. She also loves animals, especially house pets like cats and dogs.
