Dr Juntao Lyu
Dr Juntao Lyu joined the CHSR Group as a Research Fellow in August 2024. He is currently part of the Health Economics team for the Genomically Informed Active Surveillance in Intermediate Risk Prostate Cancer (GenI-AIRSPACE) project.
He earned his PhD in Sociology of Health and Illness from The University of Leeds in 2021, where he focused on the interactions between health knowledge and health-related social inequalities among Chinese migrant workers. Following his PhD, he worked as a Research Data Analyst at the International Severe Asthma Registry (ISAR) at Optimum Patient Care, where he analysed multinational severe asthma registry data to compare and optimize treatment strategies.
Prior to joining CHSR, Juntao spent two years as a Senior Research Assistant at the Centre for Applied Health Economics (CAHE) within the School of Medicine and Dentistry at Griffith University. During his time at Griffith, he developed a keen interest and advanced modelling skills in Health Economics, successfully completing several external pharmaceutical health economics projects focused on cost-effectiveness evaluations of medical products.
Throughout his career, Juntao has conducted research projects in health policy evaluation, clinical outcomes data analysis, cost-effectiveness analysis, and disease progression simulation. These experiences have fuelled his growing interest in applying his expertise to cancer health services research.
Juntao is an active member of the Australian Health Economics Society (AHES), the Modelling and Simulation Society of Australia and New Zealand (MSSANZ), and the Healthy Environments and Lives (HEAL) National Research Network.
Outside of his professional work, Juntao enjoys playing sports, including badminton, volleyball, Tennis, and swimming. He also has a passion for hiking in mountain forests and trail running.
