Justice Health Unit present to the Australian & New Zealand Association of Psychiatry, Psychology and Law

Members of the Justice Health Unit and collaborators recently gave a presentation to the Australian & New Zealand Association of Psychiatry, Psychology and Law in Perth, Western Australia.

Stuart Kinner, Jesse Young, and Emilia Janca from the Justice Health Unit; Amanda Butler, visiting Endeavour fellow from Simon Fraser University, Canada; and Craig Cumming, from the University of Western Australia, presented to ANZAPPL on the 14th of July, 2018.

The presentation, entitled “Public Health in the Criminal Justice System” covered a range of topics including the case for removing the Medicare exclusion for Australian prisoners, patterns of emergency department use among people released from prison, the importance of continuity of care for people involved in the criminal justice system, and the Staying Quit After Release (SQuARe) trial.
