Abstract Submission

Abstract submissions are now open for the Close the Gap for Vision by 2020 National Conference 2019.

The Close the Gap for Vision by 2020: Strengthen & Sustain – National Conference 2019 will be held at the Alice Springs Convention Centre on Thursday 14 and Friday 15 March 2019 in the Northern Territory and we are inviting abstracts for Table Top and Poster presentations to ‘share your story’ in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander eye health.

The 2019 conference theme is ‘Strengthen & Sustain’ and we welcome abstracts from all working in or interested in improving Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander eye health. We welcome any topic that is of interest and relevant to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander eye health and efforts to close the gap for vision and this could include eye care in primary care; eye-care stakeholder collaborations; community-led and cultural engagement approaches and initiatives; workforce development; challenges in coordination and case management; improving outcomes and access to services; health system changes and reform.

If you are interested in ‘sharing your story’, please submit your abstract below. Closing date for abstract submission 7 December 2018. We particularly welcome and encourage submissions from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander presenters.

Presentation type:

There are two presentation formats to choose from:

  • Table Top presentation - provides opportunity in a small group setting for sharing of information and exchange directly with delegates. Each Table Top presentation will be for up to 10 minutes only, including questions and discussion. Further details on Table Top presentations can be found here.
  • Poster presentation - allows display of Poster for delegates to view throughout the two day conference. Presenters are encouraged to attend to their Posters during session breaks to answer questions and provide further information.

Abstracts should be a summary of the presentation with no more than 300 words (not including title and authors).

All abstracts will be initially considered for a Table Top presentation and then a Poster presentation unless indicated otherwise.
