The Roadmap to Close the Gap for Vision

Professor Ian Anderson will launch the 2020 Annual Update and provide a brief occasional address. Professor Anderson is a Palawa man from the northwest coast of Tasmania with traditional ties to country known as Tebrakunna. He is the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student and University Experience) at Australian National University. Previously he was Deputy Secretary in the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, and later Deputy CEO of the National Indigenous Australians Agency (2017-2020). Prior to that he held multiple senior academic and leadership roles at the University of Melbourne and in the Aboriginal community-controlled health sector. He was one of the first Indigenous medical graduates from the University of Melbourne and has been tireless in his efforts to improve health and equity.
