The hope, we strive

The first artwork by Moey ‘The hope, we strive’ illustrates the topics young people mentioned as important for research relating to their general health and wellbeing while in youth justice detention. Young people talked about the importance of having peer support, cultural support, being able to play sports, having access to nice food and being able to cook for themselves, being able to learn at the level that they are at and about the things they are interested in. Young people want to be recognised and treated as capable and able, to have a voice and have agency in their daily lives and routines. They expressed interest in research as means to make their voice heard and would prefer to do this in a group format.
