The Victorian Electoral Commission has made your current residential and postal address available under section 34 of the Electoral Act 2002 because of the significant public interest in this research project. The University of Melbourne have engaged the Social Research Centre (an independent agency) to undertake data collection. We provided the name, gender, dates of birth and 2011/12 address of the prior participants to the Victorian Electoral Commission to check against their records. The University of Melbourne and the Social Research Centre have given an undertaking that the information will only be used to confirm the contact details for the relevant research participants and invite them to participate in the current project, and will not be given to any third party. It is an offence under the Electoral Act 2002 for a person or an organisation to use enrolment information except for the specified permitted purpose and penalties apply.
