Reappointment to the Advisory Committee of Indigenous Repatriation

Dr Lyndon Ormond-Parker

Senator Mitch Fifield (Minister for the Arts and Minister for Communications) has renewed the appointment of Dr Lyndon Ormond-Parker (Centre for Health Equity) to the Advisory Committee for Indigenous Repatriation.

Lyndon is of Alyawarre descent from the Barkly Tableland region in the Northern Territory. He is an Australian Research Council Research Fellow in the Indigenous Studies Unit within the Centre for Health Equity.

Lyndon will contribute high-level expertise to support the repatriation of Australian Indigenous ancestral remains and secret sacred objects.

The Committee members provide a strong collective voice for Australia’s Indigenous people and members are appointed based on their understanding of Indigenous cultures and traditions, and experience in repatriation or cultural heritage work.
