2022 Samuel Asper Award for Achievement in Advancing International Medical Education – Congratulations to Prof Hugh Taylor AC !!
Prof Hugh Taylor, Director of the Indigenous Eye Health Unit (CHE), has been awarded the 2022 Samuel Asper Award for Achievement in Advancing International Medical Education by the Johns Hopkins Medical & Surgical Association. He received the Award on Friday 3 June 2022 in Baltimore as part of the Johns Hopkins Medical & Surgical Association Reunion and Alumni Weekend. This Award recognises that Prof Taylor has positively influenced countless lives during his career as a researcher and ophthalmologist. The Awards Committee wanted to recognise that his commitment to advancing understanding of blinding eye disease, providing medical care and sharing his medical knowledge to benefit those patients most in need in the global community is inspiring.
