A research project led by MSPGH bioethicists has developed a tool to assist doctors with the tough ethical questions surrounding fertility preservation for children with cancer (http://jme.bmj.com/content/early/2017/10/27/medethics-2016-104042).
The research was covered on the ABC, and made the front page of The Age and Sydney Morning Herald (http://www.theage.com.au/national/health/child-cancer-patients-fertility-hopes-on-ice-but-ethical-questions-abound-20171030-gzb5db.html).
The research team was Dr Rosalind McDougall [CHE & Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH)], Prof Lynn Gillam (CHE & RCH), A/Prof Clare Delany (Dept of Medical Education & RCH), and Dr Yasmin Jayasinghe (Dept of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Royal Women’s Hospital & RCH).
