Launch of 2016 Annual Update on Implementation of the Roadmap to Close the Gap for Vision

The 2016 Annual Update on Implementation of the Roadmap to Close the Gap for Vision was launched by Ms Patricia Turner, CEO of NACCHO, at the RANZCO Congress on Monday 21 November.  Professor Hugh Taylor, Harold Mitchell Chair of Indigenous Eye Health, also spoke.  The gap for vision has been halved from 6 times non-indigenous rates to 3 times.  Altogether 11 of 42 Roadmap recommendations have been fully implemented, and almost two thirds of the individual steps have been completed.  With ongoing collaboration and continued funding, we are well on track to close the gap in eye health outcomes between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people
