Raising village chickens contributes to poverty alleviation and food security in developing countries, but in Indonesia avian influenza H5N1 outbreaks threaten this activity.

My research explored the links between village chicken production systems and the risk of H5N1 outbreaks using simulation models. Findings informed risk assessment and measures to improve resilience of these systems.
