Congratulations to Lyle Gurrin on promotion

The promotion of Lyle to Professor, recognises his long-standing international leadership of his path-setting research programs to develop and promote new statistical methodologies in causal inference that have real world public health implications.  He leads the biostatistical streams of two major epidemiology programs in genetic causes of haemochromatosis and the prevention of allergies.  His high level of success in these fields is based on his research acumen, productivity and intellect, and also on his high-level of connectedness to national and international research groups and the scientific rigour of his research.  His influential cross-disciplinary leadership has advanced the reputation of Centre of Epidemiology and Biostatistics and the University for the development and application of new applied biostatistics, scientific excellence and teaching quality.
