The Emerging Researchers in Ageing Conference was held at the National Ageing Research Institute (NARI) on December 7th. The Hallmark Ageing Research Initiative sponsored a $250 prize for the best oral presentation. The winner, Victoria Wearle from La Trobe University presented on the topic Work ability: the key to employee recruitment and retention in residential aged care?
Keynote speakers were Professor Keith Hill from Curtin University and Dr Liz Cyarto from the National Ageing Research Institute. The Gold Sponsor address was given by Ms Lou O’Neill from the Australian Department of Health and the Silver Sponsor address was given by Dr Helen Feist, President of the Australian Association of Gerontology and Acting Director of the Australian Population and Migration Research Centre at the University of Adelaide. Presentations represented all disciplines and were of a very high calibre.
