Senior Technical Advisor
Katherine Gilbert’s work has taken her from Solomon Islands, TImor and Fiji to Haiti and New York. Since joining the Nossal Institute in 2016, Katherine has worked with UNFPA, UNICEF, WHO and the World Bank, as well as Oxford Policy Management.
Before joining the Nossal, she was a Research Fellow at Monash University where she led research on unsafe abortion and managed a World Bank funded costing study, both in Solomon Islands.
Katherine worked with the United Nations helping to develop a child protection program in the Pacific for UNICEF and coordinated UNICEF’s partnerships from New York. She was an Aid Policy Advisor to the UN Special Envoy to Haiti, former US President Bill Clinton.
Katherine has a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Law from the University of Melbourne and a Master’s in Public Policy from ANU. Her aim is to help policy makers take an evidence and rights-based informed approach to health system reform.
