Health Economics Team Successfully Appointed by the Department of Health

The Health Economics Unit has recently been appointed by the Department of Health to research and consult on benefit and pricing models for medical devices and prostheses. Our research will be used to inform and support the development of frameworks and pricing models for the Prostheses List Advisory Committee (PLAC). This work is in line with the current PLAC Reform Work Plan.

The research team is led by Professor Philip Clarke and members of the team include Dr Kim Dalziel and Michelle Tew. Two highly experienced consultants, Professor Paula Lorgelly and Mr Alan Steven, have also been engaged to provide their expertise in benefit setting in the healthcare sector.
