""

Health Economics Unit staff members Chris Schilling and Dr Kim Dalziel, together with colleagues from the Royal Children’s Hospital published a recent article in the International Journal of Cardiology. Their study, provocatively titled ‘The Fontan epidemic’, used data from the Australian and New Zealand Fontan Registry, to predict the future Australian and New Zealand population of children who undergo a Fontan procedure. With survival from the procedure improving dramatically, the living population is expected to double over the next 25 years.
