Developing Tailored Evidence Products

As part of our work with the Department of Health and Ageing-funded Collaboration of Obesity Prevention Sites (CO-OPS), we developed two series of tailored evidence summaries in response to nation-wide consultations with health promotion practitioners.

Priority topics were compiled and our team developed the questions and foci in consultation. Our team produced six evidence summaries on these topics. These information products were reviews of existing systematic reviews which required careful writing and editing, following development of methods for grading the evidence. Topics included:

Remote and rural issues in the prevention of obesity for pre-adolescents and adolescents. Achieving equity in community-based obesity prevention interventions for children and adolescents. Considerations regarding harm minimisation for obesity prevention policies and programs for pre-adolescents and adolescents.

Local government and obesity prevention: An evidence resource (Interventions to prevent obesity in early years settings, tackling food insecurity and changing the environment to support physical activity).
