Indigenous Eye Health receives additional support

The Indigenous Eye Health group (CHE)

The Indigenous Eye Health group (CHE) has received further funding to support their mission to eliminate trachoma and improve eye health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians nationwide.  Trachoma health promotion has received funding from the Australian Government Department of Health ($3.26 million) and implementation of the Roadmap to Close the Gap for Vision is being supported by the Paul Ramsay Foundation ($1.5 million).

We congratulate Professor Hugh Taylor and his team.  The Roadmap to Close the Gap for Vision, which aims to achieve equity in Indigenous eye care outcomes and eliminate trachoma from Indigenous communities by 2020, is one very big step closer to reaching this momentous goal.
