SPARK, a novel solution for managing biomedical Big Data sets generated by new genomics and other omics technologies. SPARK is built upon The Ark, an open-source data management platform for health and medical research. SPARK extends The Ark’s capabilities to handle family studies, and allows for statistical analyses using High Performance Computing. SPARK has a web-based interface so users do not need specialized computing expertise. The research included a usability study that reinforced the quality of SPARK.
