Australian Human Rights Commission Inquiry Submission

The University of Melbourne’s Hallmark Ageing Research Initiative and Hallmark Disability Research Initiative recently completed a joint submission to the Australian Human Rights Commission Inquiry into Discrimination Against Older Workers and Workers with a Disability. Academics from the Melbourne School of Law, Melbourne School of Population and Global Health and the Centre for Workplace Leadership contributed to the submission. The submission firstly put forward recommendations for people with Disability, then Older Australians and also outlined how both types of discrimination intersect with recommendations to address this overlap. Inquiry submissions closed on December 4th and it is anticipated the Inquiry Report will be released in June 2016.
